Fathul Mubin is one of the best Sharh of Imam Nawawis Arba'in. This and the great book of Ibn Rajb Al-Hanbali, namely Jami' Al-'Ulumul Hikm. These two stand out from any other sharh of the Arba'in An-Nawawi.
About Imam Ibn Hajr Al-Haytami:
Shihab al-Din Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki is born in 909 H in Abu Haytam, western Egypt. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Hajar al-Haytami was a student of Zakariyya al-Ansari. He represents the foremost resource for legal opinion (fatwa) in the entire late Shafi`i school. He died in 974 AH (CE 1566). He was the Shafi'i Imam of his time, a brilliant scholar of in-depth applications of Sacred Law, and with al-Imam A?mad al-Ramli, represents the foremost resource for fatwa (legal apinion) for the entire late Shafi'i School. He was educated at al-Azhar, but later moved to Makkah, where he authored major works in Shafi'i jurisprudence, hadith, tenets of faith, education, hadith commentary, and formal legal opinion. His most famous works include Tuhfah al-mu'taj bi sharh al-Minhaj, a commentary on al-Imam al-Nawawi’s Minhaj al-'alibin whose ten volumes represent a high point in Shafi?i scholarship; the four volume al-Fatawa al-kubra al-fiqhiyyah; and al-Zawajir ?an iqtiraf al-kaba'ir, which with its detailed presentation of Qur'an and Hadith evidence and masterful legal inferences, remains unique among Muslim works dealing with taqwa (god fieriness) and is even recognized by Hanafi scholars like al-Imam Ibn 'Abidin as a source of authoritative legal texts valid in their own school.
